Translators in Ministry of Defence Examination
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) hold an All India
competitive examination for the recruitment to the post of Junior Hindi
Translator (in Sub ordinate offices) and Hindi Pradhyapak (Central Hindi
Training Institute) and Senior/Junior Translator in Ministry of Defence.
Educational
Qualification:-
(1) For Junior Hindi Translator
Master’s Degree from a recognized university or its
equivalent in English/ Hindi with Hindi/English as a compulsory
or Elective subject at Degree level
OR
Bachelor degree from a recognized university or its
equivalent as Hindi and English as main subject.
(2) For Hindi
Translator in Central Hindi Training Institute
1. Master’s
degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as
compulsory or optional or as a language paper from a recognized university or
equivalent.
2.
Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognized university/Institute &
equivalent.
3. Two
years experience of Teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary Level.
(3) For
Senior / Junior Hindi translator
(1) Master’s
Degree from a recognized university or its equivalent in English/ Hindi with Hindi/English as
a compulsory or Elective subject at Degree
level. OR
Master’s degree of a
recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or
English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as
medium of examination at degree level ;
OR
Master’s degree of a recognized
university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English as
a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two medium of examination and
the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.
(2) Recognized
Diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice
versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and
vice versa in Central or State Govt. Offices, including Govt. of India
undertakings.
Age
Limit: - Not exceeding 30 years. (Relaxations as per
Reservation)

Question papers are designed to check the understanding
of the basic knowledge of language and literature, vocabulary and ability to
write correct language.
Paper
– 2 (200 marks)
This paper contain two passages one to translate from
Hindi into English and second from English into Hindi and an essay each in
Hindi and English.
